Dana VanSumeren
Dana VanSumeren has been an art teacher for nineteen years and currently serves as the Visual Arts Educator at Western High School, in Parma, Michigan. She has a passion for teaching along with her art.
While she specializes in photography, painting has been a lifelong pursuit. Her paintings have been exhibited at Art 634 and at the Ella Sharp Museum. She has been a participant in the Jackson Art Walk. Her photography is currently being exhibited virtually by the NAEA (National Art Educator Association)
This fall, her artwork was exhibited at Spring Arbor University’s Alumni show. She received second place at the first BLOCK party painting mural competition and has participated in Bright Wall Murals competitions in the past and is a member of the JXNARTTEACHERS. Dana resides in Jackson with her husband, two boys, cat, and dog. She loves tending her plants, running 5K’s, and is a beekeeper.
